The Public Works Water Division provides water to residents of the City of Papillion as well as the surrounding areas. Since 1976, the City of Papillion has owned and operated its own water system, regulated by the rules set forth by the State of Nebraska.
Our Water Division works diligently to ensure the safety of the water we provide to you. In fact, on an annual basis, the City conducts more than 18,000 tests — 50 tests per day — at locations throughout our water system to ensure water quality. We also submit nearly 1,500 tests per year to be independently examined by the State.
Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy Title 179 requires the completion of a Cross-Connection Survey for all water connections to a public water system every 5 years. We ask for your assistance in completing this survey. To meet the state requirements, 100% of City of Papillion water customers must return the survey. If you need assistance in filling out this form, or if you have any questions about cross connections, please call 402-597-2007.
City of Papillion employees read your meter each month. The approximate date of your meter reading is listed on the left side of your monthly bill. In order to provide reliable service, it is sometimes necessary for our employees to visit your home on an unscheduled day.
